First Person Thoughts: I am most motivated to make films not because I love movies or images or even telling stories (I, of course, love all of these things), I am driven to make films because life is one long, profound hallucination for us all; and watching them is a brief respite from this barrage. To quote one of the all-time-greats, "The artist is always the servant, and is perpetually trying to pay for the gift that has been given to him* as if by a miracle." *This is an almost perfect quote if it weren't for the use of the word "him." This should say "her or him or anyone".
